A very rare photo of myself laying out planting in a garden. I had taken my nearly 5 year old for a site visit after school and to keep him entertained I asked him to take some photos. He surprised me with his results and I actually got a photo of me in the garden. The team were doing a great job busily planting for the clients return after holiday. I love the end of a project when the plants arrive. The landscaping suddenly bursts into life. I am looking forward to the clients reaction when they come home today.

It is always lovely when clients send you a picture of new planting schemes fulfilling their potential. Love Echinacea White Swan with this gysophillia. This border was designed for seasonal change from the Iris in may through to Salvia in June to roses in July to Gysophilia in August to Echinacea in September there is always something flowering. Bulbs will see the border through the winter and spring until the next summer flourish.

Our latest outdoor kitchen. We are loving building garden kitchens. We have all fallen in love with entertaining at home and now we are allowed to again let's go and have a blast. No mess in the house and everyone has a great time. Thanks to the @thebraaiman_uk for supplying us with this fabulous braai for us to build around for our South African client to have a bit of home from home. To be honest I think we should all own a braai they are amazing to cook on. See our new website for full pictures of this very relaxed eating space.

Another dark damp courtyard transformed. This is newly planted so we will return to photograph once it has matured. It now feels light and airy with the gorgeous sound of running water. The clients have let us know they are planning a new years party for them and their children in the garden. We love the way having a beautiful space outsides make you want to be there no matter what the weather.

One of our favourite gardens from last year. Now the alliums have gone over this border is budding up with agapanthus in successional flowering. It is one of the hardest thing to get right in planting design but my favourite challenge of doing any scheme. Love the impact of simple planting too. The hardscape is the backbone the planting brings the garden to life.

A visit to a garden we designed and built and maintained ever since. Cannot believe how much our bonsai tree planted for the basement window view has grown. It can be seen from all over the garden now. Lavender little lady forms the hedge in front. It is one of my favourite lavender as it makes a great hedge as it does not get too leggy.

A recent complicated design and build with lots of levels. Not the prettiest pucture as part way though the project. We had to dig down 5m to hit hard ground to build off. See earlier post with the mud and the diggers. We finally got the lawn after all the rain. It all needs softening with planting and furniture. There is a fire pit area hot tub and patio to admire the views. Lots of space to enjoy this awkward space. All built in gabions and the stone which changes as the light changes. Once the hedging is in it will transform the look of this.

Home offices can be made even in the most difficult sites. With more clients needing to work from home it is lovely to have a space separate from the house. We can create a haven to work from in any space. This was a job from a few years ago and this was created for as an artist retreat. Before it was a baren unappealling slope and after a relaxed and quiet spot to work as well as meadow for wildlife. Thought it would be worth posting now if you are trying to find a place in an ackward place to work from. There is always a clever solution.
