The brief began with a simple but heartfelt request: to create a bog garden that would bring wildlife closer to the home and add a sense of movement and calm. From that idea grew the garden’s defining feature – a bespoke tiled water feature, designed and built entirely by our team. Formed from a Mandarin Stone tile, it’s part sculpture, part sanctuary, reflecting light, sound and texture throughout the day. It’s positioned perfectly so that the clients can look out from their new dining room window and enjoy the water from inside as much as outside.
Working with the home’s angles, we shaped the garden into distinct yet connected zones – from a firepit area for the family’s teenagers, to a tranquil seating corner where floating benches appear to hover above shade-loving ferns. Living ivy walls and multi-stem trees provide privacy while maintaining softness and movement, and metalwork screens create flow from the front garden to the back.
