Because we already knew how the clients lived in their garden, we were able to design something perfectly attuned to their lifestyle – a place for large family gatherings, quiet swims overlooking their horses in the field and long summer evenings outdoors.
We created the haha wall to allow seamless views into the field, whilst stopping the horses from accessing the space. We built the swimming pool right up to the edge of the ha-ha, creating a natural infinity effect that makes you feel as if you’re floating among the fields with the horses beyond. Around it, we planted a low rose hedge to soften the edges without interrupting the view.
An oak-framed pool house, designed and built by our team, anchors the space – complete with an outdoor kitchen, fridge and storage, plus a shaded area for lounging and drying off. It’s as practical as it is beautiful, designed for long-term use and comfort.
We designed the space and dug out the pool area then worked closely with Compass Pools on the technical installation of the swimming pool, ensuring every dimension was exact and the finish exceptional. The lounging area flows naturally into a bar-height dining space, ideal for relaxed entertaining. Throughout, carefully placed Torc Pots add sculptural interest and seasonal planting opportunities, bringing elegance and continuity with other areas of the estate.

The finished garden feels both relaxed and refined – a private sanctuary with open, countryside views. Every element, from the craftsmanship of the oak frame to the stillness of the water against the horizon, is designed with purpose.
For these clients, it’s not just a swimming pool – it’s a lifestyle space, designed for connection, calm and enduring enjoyment. For us, it’s a testament to the beauty of long-term collaboration and the harmony that comes from design deeply rooted in place.
