    Strong understanding of client's identity and preferences in style and format

    The brief:

    Initially working alongside the client on their previous garden, Gardens by Keltie & Clark were called again to create a garden fitting with their complete property renovation. Knowing the client, we already obtained a strong sense of the client’s identity and preferences for style and format.

    We wanted to create an adult space for entertaining, sitting and being in the garden that really set off the Victorian property.

    There were plans for this to become a family home, therefore we had to think about how this garden would work and adapt with young children.

    Fitting and adaptable for the entire family

    The design:

    Outside the orangery kitchen, we designed a focal point water feature which would be safe for young children as well as being attractive and tactile.

    Having previously landscaped the neighbours garden, we knew the soil conditions were very wet and heavy clay. We created an Italian styled gravel garden, to enable the client to have a variety of plants that would thrive in non-clay conditions.

    We created a vegetable area for growing that was neat, and in keep with the client’s Victorian property and brief.
